About the Author
Throughout the last five years Mary has spent much time reading to her three children. She is drawn to stories that teach values and emphasize real life lessons.
Mary remembers chatting with her dad, Ed Higbee, about stories from his childhood. Ed, an excellent storyteller himself, took her on a journey through his memories to when he was six years old. He shared a story about mischief, forgiveness, and important life lessons. Later that night Mary created a short poem out of this special story and began illustrating the images he described.
‘Eddy and the Diamond Reo' was born.
Mary was fortunate enough to be raised on the same ranch as her dad in Alamo, Nevada. A ranch gives children room to explore, make mistakes, and grow while being surrounded by family and friends who love and support you. A big part of this story is to share a piece of their home and values with you.
