A lot of times I feel like my mind is playing tug of war!

"I can't do this!"

"What am I thinking."

"What makes me think I should even try?"

"I should give up."

"It's too expensive." "It's too risky."

As I sit here at the end of my day, I feel a little defeated. Starting back at work was very difficult for me after time off with my baby. It took many sleepless nights filled with anxiety and internal debate to take the first step.

Step one: Believe in yourself!

Today was my day at the salon and I feel as though I've put all of my skills, courage, energy, out there with little reward.

Building a clientele has been a challenge! It's extremely difficult for me to leave Jackson (1) when i'm not busy at the salon. This is the hard truth of being a hairstylist and building your clientele. It takes months and at times it's hard for me to keep moving forward.

At the end of the day I love what I do! I know the quality of my work is just as good as others who have millions of followers and charge triple what I do. I'm confident that if I keep pushing myself out of my comfort zone I will be successful.

Step Two: Get out of your comfort zone!

Everything I do today, is creating who I want to be in the future. I'm proud of my work but more importantly i'm proud of who I'm becoming. I'm growing my talents, challenging myself, and being strong for my family.

Step Three: Know you can do anything you set your mind to!

Don't let yourself be your own worse enemy. Believe you can do it! Celebrate small victories and know your growing from the hard days as well as the good.

We got this,

Mary Alexis
