I have been thinking of a name for my business for a long time! I came up with a few but nothing was really standing out! I would frequently call my sisters with my random thoughts and try to explain my vision. Aren't sisters the best? Always there to listen no matter what. I really wanted the name to represent who I am, where I come from, and what I believe beauty truly is. Finally, after months of discussion and sleepless nights my sister Amy came to my rescue and suggested Deep Roots. She nailed it! Instantly, I said that is it!!!!

I am from a small town called Alamo Nevada, a little desert oasis in Southern Nevada. Haven't heard of it? That's okay! The nearest city is Las Vegas which is an 1 hr and 15 min away. No stop lights, no lines on the road, everyone knows everyone, truly my kind of place. If you ever pass through stop and get a blackberry shake at R Place. Just don't blink or you'll miss it!

I love simplicity, desert sunsets, quiet, surprisingly the smell of skunk (it reminds me of home), dirt roads, animals, hiking, wildflowers, laughter, the smell after a desert rain storm, and most of all I love my family. I am so grateful and proud of my family and heritage. I have been known to get quite defensive if anyone teases me about my town! The people there have always been so good to me and continue to do so. A community that always supports you and always welcomes you home with open arms. A few words to describe me as a little girl is shy, timid, crazy, obnoxious, class clown, arm wrestling champ, frizzy haired tom girl! Doesn't quite make sense but that's okay, I was just figuring out who I was. My seed was planted and this place and those amazing people have helped me grow into who I am today. Its a continual journey but little by little I think I'm finding my place in this world.

I married a young farm-boy from Enterprise Utah who has turned out to be pretty amazing. He's a successful Engineer but an even better husband and father to our Jackson (1). We have truly grown up together and wouldn't have it any other way. One of our favorite things to do is to go HOME! Slow down, take a breath, and not stress about being stuck behind a tractor. Nothing better than a little farm therapy! One of my main goals is to help others see how beautiful this life, each other, and most importantly YOU "yes you" truly is.

Remember to find joy in the simple things, take care of your inner beauty, and honor your "Deep Roots!" There is no stopping you in whatever you choose to accomplish!

That's all for now,

Love always,

Mary Alexis
